Mobile Trapping Cabin
2020 Wet’suwet’en Territories

I was honoured to be invited up to Gidimt'en territory, one of the five clans of the Wet’suwet’en nation, to visit and help build a portable trapping cabin. The cabin is built on an 18’ foot trailer, and is well insulated with a very large wood stove for the northern winters.

It will serve as housing for Indigneous folks who are using their traditional territories to live, hunt, raise family, and gather medicines. Althought it is very mobile, it is currently resting on Cas Yikh (Grizzly) house territory the banks of the Wet'sinkwha (Morice River).
